About me

He is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NC state. He joined NC State in August 2016 as a Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program cluster hire in Visual Narrative. He leads the laboratory of interpretable Visual Modeling, Computing and Learning (iVMCL) in ECE at NC State. His CV is here.


Prior to joining the NC State faculty, he was a postdoctoral researcher and a research assistant professor of statistics in the Department of Statistics at UCLA, both affliated with the center of Vision, Cognition, Learning and Autonomy (VCLA). He received his Ph.D. in statistics from UCLA under the supervision by Prof. Song-Chun Zhu.
